A perfect combination of prose and poetry which revolves around the tultumous life of the American Musician, Charles Mingus, I must say. The writings are so evident to have been written just out of inspiration which involves 15 years of research. I marvel at the Author's patience who has given so much time of his life to write all about the Musician and the life he lived with all its odds. This, I feel is a true tribute by the Author to the Musician.  A book written with utmost dedication is much appreciable.

Raul da Gama is a musician and poet who lives in Milton, Ontario, Canada. His work continues to appear in The WholeNote Magazine and Hot House Jazz Magazine and has also appeared in DownBeat, npr and elsewhere. He is the senior writer for Toronto Cultural Media publications and also writes highly opinionated critiques on music which he publishes in JazzDaGama. This is his third book of poems and first since 1974.
