Waddicor has created poems that she says she simply does for “the joy of doing it” and to “spread a little happiness” and so.  She certainly shares her joy in the writing of this poems in her new collection.

She introduces her book with a poem entitled “Life’s Collage is Your Own Work of Art.”  In it, she examines creativity on so many levels comparing it to an artist’s collage.  She states “We are all artists, all creative, all life is creative, constantly changing and becoming something else; it is up to you to wield the brush, the pen, the thoughts that recreate its form constantly.”  These are wise words to live and to create by to say the very least.

Her poems are expressive.  She draws on so many bits of life and experiences for each of her works.  There is such a sense of self as well as self-expression in each one.  It is easy to get lost in her lines and to feel totally absorbed in what she is trying to say in each one.

From the poem “Earth’s music”:

“Music wanders about my ears
rolling waves of sound that fill all my thoughts
take over my spirit
oh song of earth as nature speaks her words
you sway through space to distant stars
on wings of notes that sing of joy in sadness”

Wannicor’s poems are inspiring.  They easily grab the heart or rather go to the crux of the matter.  Her message garners the spirit of joy and harnesses it within each verse.  Her words are meshed together well and come together in a meaningful whole presentation.

From the poem “Little Sun (Coltsfoot)”
“The flower - it grows on waste land
where no man has had a hand
where feathers - stones and broken bones reside
a coltsfoot - like a little sun decides to bloom in yellow”

These poems drip with imagery.  It is a natural but striking experience to read each one.

“Happiness Poetry” contains exquisite poems.  Poems that were carefully crafted in honor of and to present vast emotion imbedding peace, love, joy and yes happiness in the soul and in the mind.

These are lovely poems.  They are both lively and delicate and leave a lasting impression.
